Questions from a noob lol
Hey Every1, im pretty new to guild wars, well kinda lol, im a level 13 warrior/monk playing the prophecies campaign and last night ran to lions arch, i own all of the guild wars and was wondering wen i travel to say cantha, can i do all the factions missions while im in there and switch between the two worlds??? Or do i have to create a factions caracter on my log in screen to start the campaign.
Another thing, on the map when u complete the mission for town u get a sword through the town logo thing, rite? well if i complete the bonus for the level is that the other sword??? what are glittering piles of dust worth and what are they for lol, is that just the outcome of a unsucessful salvage??? Can i get back to pre-searing at all Thanks dayredfern |

Your level 13 w/mo is stuck in post searing, you may go back if you create another Prophocies char.
Piles of glittering dust are worth whatever the material NPC are paying for them or someone is willing to pay to buy them. They are a typical salvage from some items. THey are useful in crafting some useful items for armor crafting adn for armor itself for various classes. You can travel to Cantha from lions arch with any character as long as you own a copy of Factions. Yes you may travel back anfd forthe from each continent at will. If you want to creat a Factions char that is completely up to you and that char can travel to Tyria Future referance go to http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Main_Page and read a lot. |

1) Once you complete the quest that takes you to Kaineng City from Lion's Arch, you can map-travel freely between them.
2) Yes, the sword on the left represents completion of the bonus objective. 3) Dust is just one of many kinds of crafting material; it's not particularly valuable. 4) No, one cannot return to pre-searing. You might have noticed that two years passed during the cutscene; I don't believe that time travel is possible within the GW universe. |

Ok you dont need to make a new toon in cantha to play factions you can take a quest in lions arch to get to cantha and elona, i sugest youre lvl 20 when you go becuse both cross over areas are designed tro be played by lvl 20's
second the 2 swords is a chapter one thing only for compleating both the mission and bonus. in cantha everything is timed in missions and ranked on a 3 tire scale 2 swords and a pole arm show up for a masters reward (highest tier) and glitering dust is a common crafting material only way to get in pre searing to to roll a new toon |

Now that you've made it to Lions Arch visit the Xunlai agents and open up your materials storage. At the very least keep 250 dust on hand for crafting. It is used for various materials, armors and whatever so save what you can.
If it wasn't clear, once you travel to another continent via the quest then you can just click on the ship icon on the world map to freely travel between the ports. |

1. Yes, for each chapter you have on the same account, you can do every mission and bonus for them. But you have get to the port cities and do whatever quest there is before you can travel to the new place the first time.
2. A sword from upper left to lower right shows that Mission is complete. A sword from upper right to lower left shows that the bonus is complete. IN factions, however, you'll get 1, 2, or 3(masters/bonus level) swords, depending on how fast you complete the mission (there are 2 that aren't timed) 3. Glittering Dust is used for making rare crafting materials and for certain armor sets. Ususally you can sell it to other players for 7 - 8g each, depending on what the price is at the materials trader. 4. The only way to "go back" to pre-searing is to create a new character. There is a two-year interval between the searing and your arrival in post-searing Ascalon, and time travel hasn't been invented. |
